The Story

Jim Dewey is an outlaw leader with charm and something of a good heart.  When he is shot by a bounty hunter, he is found by Elizabeth Grainger and the Graingers take him in and nurse him back to health.  Whilst caring for him, Elizabeth begins to fall for his charms and when the Graingers discover who he really is and decide to turn him in, Elizabeth decides to help him.

Dramatic Scenes

After charming Elizabeth throughout his recovery, a fully fit Jim displays the "bad man" in him and tells her a few truths.

Other Notable Scenes/Things to Watch For

Nice scene at the beginning where the injured Jim Dewey comes across the stream before collapsing, there's lots of lying in bed injured, the poetry reciting scene and the scene where Holly Grainger has to help him shave.

Difficult Scenes to Watch

The confrontation between Jim and Elizabeth includes a line from Jim about his father "You see he got crazy drunk one night and said his prayers and sent himself straight to hell".

Is it worth getting?
(my opinion only!)

Definitely.  Another of my favourites.  This is a large role and Pete gets to show a wide range of acting talent.  The character is almost a forerunner of Hannibal Heyes and if you haven't seen Pete in anything other than Alias Smith and Jones then this can be an easy place to start because it is a western and because of the similarities between Jim Dewey and Hannibal Heyes - so much so in fact that I admit to being surprised when it wasn't Kid Curry who came to his rescue!

The Story

Denny Todd had had a difficult childhood but eventually settled with and was raised by the Graingers but then ran away after some problems.  The Graingers loved him as a son but hadn't seen him for many years until the day he returns as an adult.  Denny is quickly offered a job with them and his loyalty to Clay Grainger is unfailing - until eventually it seems to have gone too far and Clay must then face the fact that Denny may have killed a man who posed a threat to Clay.

Dramatic Scenes

Confrontation at the end between Denny and Clay, with Denny on the verge of breaking down and also the court hearing scene.

Other Notable Scenes/Things to Watch For

There's a mega floppy hair scene, the picnic scene with Elizabeth and the shootout in the saloon scene.

Difficult Scenes to Watch

The ending involves a shooting and is not particularly easy to watch

Is it worth getting?
(my opinion only!)

Definitely.  This is one of my favourites.  This is a large role and an interesting part (though the character is somewhat dark) and gives Pete great scope to display his dramatic talents. He's in it a lot, he looks good and he does that verge of tears thing so well.
